language client base. Clearinghouse resources have been especially developed in the areas of ready reference, collection
development resources, literature sources and technical services.

Every Child Ready to Read @ Ottawa Public Library.
The Every Child Ready to Read (ECRR) early literacy initiative
from ALA is an innovative,
research-based approach to developing six distinct pre-reading skills that
children must know in order to learn to read. This
initiative has been adopted by the OPL. Their
webpage program is singled out because OPL has translated all the
promotional materials into French and posted
these on their website, free to download. This includes
handouts for parents and French book lists. Simply click on 'FRANÇAIS'
at the top of the page.

Offering downloable audio books. The French catalogue is limited as the French publsihing industry has yet to catch on. The colleciton inlcudes classics as
well as best sellers, news magazines, language learning tools and self-help books as well a some French radio broadcasts (Les Grosses
